While Denver ranks in the top twenty of the largest cities in the country, it has plenty of activities and events to offer. 2000 acres are dedicated to parks, one of which is the City Park, a 314-acre area. In this park system there are plenty of paved bike trails and golf courses to enjoy. Denver also boasts of having the 2nd largest performing arts center in the nation and three stadiums dedicated to sports. And for concerts there is the unique Red Rocks amphitheatre, a stunning venue built into the red rocks of Colorado. There is even a Denver International Film Festival for those interested in movies. For shoppers there is the 16th Street mall, a mile of amazing outdoor shopping and restaurants located downtown.
LoDo, lower downtown Denver, is the hotspot of Denver night life and has many condo buildings and luxury lofts. There are plenty of places that families can enjoy downtown including a zoo, several museums, and an aquarium. Located nearby is the Elitch’s amusement park and Water World, one of the top ten best water parks in the nation. Also for families is Casa Bonita, a restaurant famous for its waterfall cliff divers and entertainment. Since Colorado is one of those Wild West states, Denver hosts the National Western Stock Show for those interested in rodeos and western history.
Although the mountains have a surplus of snow in the winter, Denver has mild weather while still enjoying a few inches of snowfall. And visibility is spectacular due to the semi-arid climate, so there is always a chance of viewing the amazing Rocky Mountains. Because of this climate, and the nearby mountains, there are many active people and an abundance of outdoor activities to enjoy, whether it be biking, hiking, or whitewater rafting. The Rocky Mountains are also home to some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the world with over 30 resorts and mountains.
Living in Denver, Colorado has a reasonable price. For the average single family home the price is below $250,000. There are homes just being built and some dating back to the late 19th century. The price for Denver real estate begins in the low $100,000’s.
